My little Maxy got his first major ouchy today :( I took the toddlers to the Round the Table sing at Church..and I got a text from Tim asking if the kids were having fun & if I would bring him home something to eat. So I told him, ya they loved it & ya no prob on the food thing. Two second later my phone rings & it's Tim...his voice is panicy & he just says "come home right now, I need you now, Max split his face open' & he hung up. So I stand up and ask Tim's mom if she's fine with the toddlers...grabbed my coat, and told her 'Max split his face open' & litterally ran out of the Church. I ran to my car and did about 85-90 the whole way home. I really didn't care if a cop pulled me over or not..my baby needed me...and I was a second short of a full blown panic attack. So I got home and Max is up in the bath, Tim's up there with him. Tim's got Max's blood all over his shirt. Max is splashin around havin a great time in the tub...his eye is SO swallon, and it's bleeding. Tim said his shirt was nothin compared to how much blood Max had on him. I guess he was walking and reached out for the fire place, and was a step too far and fell and hit the side of his eye on it. Ohhh my heart heart so bad! Our kids have never had a boo boo that bad :( So I got him out of the tub and loved on him, and got him in some warm jammies...I was detirmined that he was going to go to the ER to get checked out. Tim made him a bottle and I fed him a Nana while he waited. As soon as he saw that I was giving him a Nana, he started yelling, "NANANANANANA!" I was happy he was eating and acting 'normal' [lol well 'normal' as in Max normal!] And after the nanny, Tim's mom walked in. She went with me to the Westerville Children's Close to Home. She was smart and called ahead of time to see if they did stitches. So we took him, and my poor baby had to get FOUR stitches :( At first they called us back to look at it and to detirmine wether or not he needed stitches...and he did. So then the nurse, Tim's mom, and I had to hold Max down so they could put this numbing jelly on his cut. Then they bandaged it up and he had to keep it on for 30 minutes. At first he kept grabbing at it...but as soon as it got numb...he forgot it was there. So he ran around and played and was fine. Then they called us back to get the stitches. They layed him on this plastic board and strapped his wrist down and then they wrapped him up in like a baby straight jacket..he couldn't move..although he did almost get his knee out. Anne had to like lay on top of him to keep him still...then a nurse had to hold his head straight. I was sad I couldn't even hold his hand. So I just stood beside him and talked to him and brushed his tears away. He screamed the whole time. And he kept looking at me out of the cornor of his eye to make sure I was there. It was really heartbreaking. I couldn't stand seeing the blood on the suture or watching them tugged at his skin to make sure they were tight. It was just all around horrible :( Then when they were done, we unwrapped him & he was soaking wet with sweat...trying to fight his way out of that wrap. He had sweated so much that the board was wet, and his clothes were soaked. I hate it :( And on top of everything...the poor little man has an ear infection! The doctor wanted to check him out because he was coughing, and he opened his sleeper and he had little dots on his chest, and the doc said that's common for the virus that's going around...and then he looked in his ear and he has an ear infection too. So he got an antibiotic for it. It kind of makes me mad that I've taken him to the doctor a couple times thinking he had an ear infection..and they always tell me he doesn't. But he's been pulling on his ear for a while now :/ But atleast we've gotten it all taken care of. They weighed him..and he was 20 lbs...with his clothes on. LoL he was 19 on his first bday I'm pretty sure. He's still just a peanut...and to see him walking is halarious!
Well after we got home..I gave JJ a bath..she is obsessed with the faucet. She tries to catch the water, and then she got really close to it and stuck her little tounge out to try to drink the water..and it splashed her face and scared her. She's so silly! And she tried drinking the bath water out of the cup I use to rinse their hair. She's such a nugget! Max ate another nanny and some ham lol and Tim gave him fruit loops bc they are his fave...and they both went to bed with no problem. I just feel bad for the little guy :( I'm not looking forward to having to clean the stitches either.

Oh no, poor Max!! I can't imagine having to go through that. :( Especially thinking about him looking at you out of the side of his eye. Poor baby. I'm so glad everything turned out OK and they are getting his ear infection taken care of.
ReplyDeleteAt least your hubby handled the situation well :) Except for the panic inducing phone call... lol.
Yaa, he did a good job handleing it. He said he knew he had to give Max a bath because I would have freaked out if I saw all the blood! I probably would have passed out..I about did just looking at it dripping from his eye!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad he is ok!!! You know I cracked my chin open when I was around his age in the bath tub... then I did it again when I was like 7 while riding a bike.... I can't imagine going through that. I used to freak out all the time when Trinity would get around the fire place at our old house. She love getting up on it. That is why when we built this house we did put in a hearth.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it took that long to find out he had an ear infection. that would piss me off. Carl had to have tubs in his ear when he was little. I hope Max is still doing well, poor little guy. Give him kisses and hugs from us!!
